Erik Selvig is an Astrophysicist, holding tenure at Culver University. He was a contemporary of Dr. Bruce Banner, before Bruce left for various reasons that were undisclosed to the rest of the department.
He is mentor to Jane Foster, who is currently doing some research work out in New Mexico, and he anticipates visiting to see how she is doing, reasonably soon.
